  1. Why should a customer choose V.E. Enterprises over the competition?
    • The short answer is design, quality and workmanship. V.E. Enterprises approach to building its tanks and trailers centers around one goal: a longer useful life. For example, where most competitors use I-beam or channel outer rails on their storage tanks, V.E. Enterprises uses 6” x 12” steel tubing, providing more rigidity and a broader ‘footprint.’ The same approach is used in sub-arc welding of all vertical seams on tanks or trailers and steel shot blasting prior to paint or coating. The end result - a longer useful life.

  2. Does V.E. Enterprises lease liquid storage tanks or vacuum trailers?
    • No, V.E. Enterprises does not currently lease tanks or trailers to customers. We sell tanks and trailer to a number of national leasing and energy service companies who have built their business around short / long term leasing where it makes economic sense. Call us old fashioned but prefer not to ‘compete’ with our customers.

  3. Does V.E. Enterprises work through dealers in the US?
    • Yes, V.E. Enterprises is proud to work through a dealer network that covers almost 2/3rd of the United States and is currently looking for dealers in the Midwest and Southeast areas. Dealers offer several services not provided by V.E. including financing, pump installations, bobtail installations, truck sales and also provide full repair and warranty services for customers in their respective regions. See our Dealer page for details on our dealer network locations and service offerings.

  4. Understanding that V.E. Enterprises buys a substantial amount of steel in the US, how does V.E. manage steel price volatility?
    • Like any heavy metal manufacturer, V.E. must constantly manage raw material costs and utilizes a number of ‘hedging’ strategies to accomplish this to minimize the impact on its customers. With the weakening dollar in early 2008 and strong economic growth rates overseas, the pressure on steel prices continues and may lead to steel surcharges on V.E. Enterprises tanks and trailers in the future.

  5. Does V.E. Enterprises build custom tanks, trailers and equipment?
    • V.E. Enterprises custom fabrication shop (Antec) provides a wide variety of custom fabricated parts, tanks and equipment to the oilfield, waste management, and environmental sectors. Custom mud tanks, bobtails, shaker screens, skid-mounted tanks and roll-offs are just a few of the projects that Antec handles on a day-to-day basis. Call or email us (antecsales@veenterprises.com ) with your request – we’d love to earn your fabrication business.

  6. Where can I obtain specifications for V.E. Enterprises tanks or trailers?
    • Our Product page provides a high-level outline of specifications for our production equipment and Product sheet links provide even more detail. Detailed engineering drawings and spec sheets are always available from one of our sales representatives at sales@veenterprises.com.

  7. What are V.E. Enterprises credit terms when customers purchase storage tanks or trailers?
    • In most cases, V.E. Enterprises requires cash on delivery (COD) for its tanks and trailers; exceptions are handled on a case-by-case basis.

  8. Does V.E. Enterprises build ‘code’ (ASME certified) trailers?
    • Yes, V.E. Enterprises builds some of the highest quality ASME / DOT certified vacuum trailers and bobtails in the business. Note that the lead time on these trailers is typically fifteen (15) weeks – contact your sales representative to obtain a current delivery estimate.

  9. Does V.E. Enterprises build open top, short-wall, flow-back, gas-buster and weir walled tanks?
    • Yes, V.E. will completely customize any of its standard tanks to meet a customers specific need or application. What’s more, we’ll provide this custom tank without the ‘custom price’!

  10. What are the typical build times on liquid storage tanks and vacuum trailers?
    • The average build time for a liquid storage tank is four (4) weeks while the build time for a transport (vacuum) trailer is five (5) weeks. Bobtails (80-100 barrel, tank only) can usually be completed in three weeks.

  11. How does V.E. Enterprises handle large (e.g. more than 10 tanks or trailers) orders?
    • V.E. Enterprises runs its business much like an automobile maker, building tanks / trailers continuously to fill customer or dealer orders. It’s a sequential, assembly line process from start to finish. V.E. prefers to schedule and deliver larger orders ratably (e.g. x / week) over a number of weeks or months, balancing our production capabilities across our customer base.

  12. What type of paint does V.E. Enterprises use on its tanks and trailers?
    • V.E. Enterprises is proud to use DuPont Imron 3.5 HG direct-to-metal industrial paints on its tanks and trailers. A number of primers are also available to customers who require a two or three-coat paint system for highly corrosive conditions for an additional charge.

  13. What type of internal coatings does V.E. Enterprises use on its tanks and trailers?
    • V.E. Enterprises proudly uses Carboline Plasite 4500 two-part epoxy internal coatings on its storage tanks and trailers.

  14. What is V.E. Enterprises warranty period?
    • The traditional warranty period for V.E. Enterprises tanks and trailers is one year. From a practical standpoint, V.E. will always stand behind its products with excellent customer service.

  15. How often does V.E. Enterprises change its equipment design?
    • The quick answer is continuously. V.E. Enterprises made over twenty changes to its vacuum trailer design in 2007 based on feedback from customers that use these trailers in the field. After all, if its not ‘field friendly’, who would we sell to!

  16. How does V.E. Enterprises handle freight costs for deliveries to its customers?
    • Freight costs to ship our tanks or trailers to world-wide customers are purely a ‘pass-through’ – meaning, that V.E. Enterprises charges only that amount charged us by the third-party carrier. We typically obtain quotes from a number of freight companies before shipping to ensure we’re passing the lowest possible cost on to the customer.

  17. Does V.E. Enterprises build tanks that are suitable for environmentally sensitive areas in the US and abroad?
    • Yes, V.E. Enterprises most recent tank addition, a 390 barrel double wall tank, is perfect for environmentally sensitive areas as they provide ‘self-containment’ eliminating the need for secondary pits around the tanks. See our Product page for more details.

  18. What process does V.E. Enterprises follow in order to assemble liquid storage tanks and vacuum trailers?
    • V.E. Enterprises utilizes an assembly line process that literally schedules each step of assembly from beginning to end. Each step typically involves time (labor) and materials. Whenever changes are requested for an order, the ‘in process’ tank or trailer must be pulled from the assembly line and re-inserted back into the line once the changes are complete, often resulting in delays in the completion date.

  19. Does V.E. Enterprises sell used equipment?
    • No, V.E. Enterprises only sells new liquid storage tanks, transport trailers and custom equipment to its customers. Feel free to contact one of our dealers, however, as they typically provide both new and used equipment.

  20. Does V.E. Enterprises allow customers to customize tanks with signs or unique paint schemes?
    • Yes, V.E. Enterprises is glad to help customers with custom paint schemes, sign plates and other accessories (e.g. polished aluminum wheels). Contact our sales staff for pricing.

  21. What equipment does Federal Excise Tax (FET) apply to and how much is it?
    • Federal Excise Tax (FET) is a tax required by the Federal Government on transport trailers as they typically haul fluids on US roadways. The tax does not currently apply to liquid storage tanks as they are only transported when empty. The current FET rate is 12% of the value of the transport trailer, less a $190.96 tire credit. FET charges are included on all invoices to customers unless the customer holds a valid exemption certificate.
